Prince Phillip of Pharoffland asks Belladonna to stay and enjoy the party. King Phillip issues a royal proclamation to destroy all the spinning wheels and spindles in the kingdom. Countess Fredericka scurries to get this in writing. It's Princess Rosalind's eighteenth birthday and King Phillip declares she will not have to do her lessons today.

"Who are you?" Princess Rosalind discovers Belladonna and a strange-looking contraption she's never seen before.
