CHARACTER DESCRIPTIONS:
Danny Zuko: The protagonist. Handsome, cocky leader of the Burger Palace Boys (later, the T-Birds). Falls in love with Sandy Dumbrowski over the holidays.
Sandy Dumbrowski: New in town, a wholesome, pure, kind, clumsy, and innocent girl. Sandy originally planned on going to a Catholic school but changed plans and went to Rydell High. She is a goody-goody who does not drink, smoke, swear, or rat her hair, and the Pink Ladies tease her about her attitude. Falls in love with Danny Zuko over the holidays.
THE PINK LADIES
Betty Rizzo: Tough and sarcastic leader of the Pink Ladies; does not like to hang out with Sandy because she is not tough enough. Smokes, drinks, and does not care what others think of her. Rizzo is also a girl with a "reputation". She feels Sandy is too virginal and pure to be a Pink Lady. Love interest for Kenickie.
Frenchy: Fun-loving and foolish but very friendly member of the Pink Ladies; dropped out of high school to enter Beauty School; a little light-headed and in her own world and somewhat dumb. Cares a lot about her appearance.
Marty Maraschino: Called the "beauty" in most production scripts. Most attractive member of the Pink Ladies; tries to act sophisticated. She likes older guys.
Jan: Funny, loud, and awkward member of the Pink Ladies.
THE BURGER PALACE BOYS (T-Birds):
Kenickie Murdock: The tough and rude second-in-command. Love interest for Rizzo.
Doody: The youngest member; generally foolish, and gullible.
Dominic "Sonny" LaTierri: An obnoxious yet tricky member of the Burger Palace Boys; funny; "Wise Guy".
Roger: A jolly prankster; loves "putting people on"; loves Jan.
OTHER CAST MEMBERS:
Patty Simcox: A pretty, peppy, cheerleader, and perky. She's a bit of a pain and unpopular with the Pink Ladies; nominated for Student council.
Miss Lynch: A loud, no-nonsense, serious, English teacher.
Eugene Florczyk: A silly, pompous but gullible nerd.
Vince Fontaine: An egotistical, slimy radio disk jockey trying to relive his teenage years.
Charlene "Cha-Cha" DiGregorio: Apparently the best dancer at St. Bernadette's; wins the dancing competition with Danny.
Johnny Casino: All-American, rock-star student at Rydell High, whose real name is Clarence.
Teen Angel: A cameo role which includes the ironic comedy song, "Beauty School Dropout". Usual portrayed as a teen idol.
Sheila, Hero, and Scientist: Characters in the movie playing at the Drive-in.

ABOUT THE SHOW:
It's Rydell High's senior class of 1959: duck-tailed, hot-rodding "Burger Palace Boys" and their gum-snapping, hip-shaking "Pink Ladies" in bobby sox and pedal pushers, evoking the look and sound of the 1950s in this rollicking musical. Head "greaser" Danny Zuko and new (good) girl Sandy Dumbrowski try to relive the high romance of their "Summer Nights" as the rest of the gang sings and dances its way through such songs as "Greased Lightnin'", "It's Raining on Prom Night", "Alone at the Drive-In Movie" recalling the music of Buddy Holly, Little Richard and Elvis Presley that became the soundtrack of a generation. An 8-year run on Broadway and two subsequent revivals along with innumerable school and community productions place Grease among the world's most popular musicals.
